Personal Statement
I am confident when I say that service left an everlasting impression on me when I was a young boy. The purity and the significance of service became more evident as I entered my undergraduate career. I followed my passion for service by becoming a Civic Engagement Leader through URI's Feinstein Center for Service Learning. This role taught me how to be a stronger leader, and how to spark passion and positive ideals in the minds of others. I strongly believe in the ripple effect, in that if one mind is thinking about how they can be a positive force of change, then it will ripple to others, and the more optimistic minds we have, the better our Earth will be. Each year, I volunteer at a special needs camp known as Ronald McDonald Camp, a place dedicated to spreading joy and happiness to children with cancer. This place continually teaches me the idea of positivity and the power it can have on others - and this service, along with all other forms of it - invigorates me to seek out ways to advocate for others, to aid others, and these ideologies will stay with me well past college.
