Personal Statement
I first became involved in serving the community through my mission trip to Africa as a teenager. Once I got to college, I found three organizations that have allowed me to give back to community while serving others. The first organization I started serving through is Miss Amazing, an organization geared towards giving girls and women with disabilities the opportunity to build self confidence and self esteem. The second organization I serve through is Coreluv, an organization that provides orphans in Haiti and India the six basic needs through the luv of Jesus. The third organization is Big Event, an organization on campus that gives back to the local community through a day of service. These three organizations have given the opportunity to not only give back to my community, but they have also given me the chance to bring awareness to different issues around me that are close to my heart.
