Personal Statement
I first started to address global awareness during my junior year of high school. In the art class I was taking, we had a project where we used discarded items and recycled them into our project. Along with the project, we watched a documentary on plastic grocery bags and the amount of garbage that has ended up in our oceans. A fire inside me sparked, and I wanted to do something that could help the cause. I was unaware the amount of garbage that was currently in the ocean and also all across the land and found out that there are a lot of people who also are unaware. My goal is to spread the awareness to people and help create a movement that will create the change.
