Personal Statement
I began volunteering a few years ago with Mission San Juan Sierra’s Pantry, which works to support and feed families in need in the South Orange County area. All workers within the pantry are volunteers distributing food several times a week. While there I observed the planning and organization that comes with maintaining a year-round food bank with volunteers, distribution, and donation fluctuations. In the ongoing future I hope to continue building on my understanding of assisting lower income families with access to healthy food while increasing the access to food donation opportunities as well as increasing the number of volunteers to continue the work for assisting South Orange County families.
