Personal Statement

I first became involved in volunteering because of family influence, starting in middle school. Throughout high school, I was involved with many different things such as Student Government and multiple volunteer organizations, while developing leadership experience through athletics and community involvement. In college, I have empowered others to be involved both on campus and in the community by providing opportunities of growth and support. On campus, one of my main roles is being a Resident Assistant with Housing and Residential Life. Through this position, I have been given the opportunity to intentionally connect with residents and further them on their path to achieve their individual goals. I helped re-create the housing volunteer program to offer opportunities for students to engage within the Billings community. As a part of the Student United Way leadership team, I have helped to organize a sock drive and a lunch for homeless individuals in the area. With the many campus and community opportunities I have been given I will continue to develop as a leader and encourage others to do the same.
