Faith Martin

Faith Martin, a Civil Engineering Technology student at MSU-Northern, is actively involved on campus and in the local community. As a Northern Student Ambassador, Faith is always cheerful and welcoming to campus visitors and gets to know each of her visitors individually to ensure they have the best experience possible. She has volunteered at the local Soup Kitchen for the past two years and has decorated cookies, carved pumpkins and dyed eggs with the residents at a local assisted living home. Faith is actively involved in Collegiate Stockgrowers where she has worked with local ranchers to help brand and work cattle. She is also a fantastic dancer, sharing her talents with 4th - 8th graders at a local elementary school and serving as a role model to the students. Faith's energy and commitment is infectious and she has the ability to affect change with her enthusiasm and passion. She is an inspiration to have as part of our Northern Family.
Personal Statement
I have always had a passion for connecting with people. I believe that collaborating on anything, from basic ranch work to huge event planning projects, should bring a sense of joy, purpose, and achievement to everyone involved. I have been very blessed with my time at Northern, to have opportunities for this passion to grow. The more I was involved and got to know community members, the more opportunities I saw. From doing activities as a Student Ambassador at the local assisted living home, putting on events for our students, and helping with community events, I have been able to interact with a multitude of people on many levels.
My biggest pleasure is being a part of our Stockgrowers Club on campus. I have been a part of its growth from a new club to the largest club on campus in just two years. Now we have a variety of fund raising events, Ag days for local children, and a move towards having a say in legislature through the Montana Stockgrowers Association. I have learned that the key to a successful organization is to see that everyone has strengths to apply that make the big picture happen.
