Personal Statement
I first became involved with addressing the issues of being a student athlete and being resource strapped while attending college. As I got older and became more involved in developing student leaders, I came to understand that in order to be effective leaders, we must be self-reflective leaders. That means reflecting on our mistakes, and learning from the same, thus becoming a better person and leader. On campus, I am the marketing director of the Student Leadership Board and a member of Vision in Progress Ministries and Black Men United. In Student Leadership Board, we develop student leaders on campus through the engagement of service and skill development. I am also a member of The ROCK church in Kyle, Texas. We are a strong movement that makes everlasting impacts in Hays, Comal, and Travis Counties by mentoring children and growing young adults.
