Personal Statement

When I came to URI as a Freshman I knew I wanted to be a part of something I was passionate about, something bigger than myself. On a whim I decided to apply for URI Service Corps alternative spring break trip to Baltimore Maryland focused on Homelessness & Poverty Revitalization. Through this trip, I was able to find my passion for service. Since then I have tried my best to immerse myself in service whenever possible. Currently I am a Senior Resident Assistant working with a first-year population to help them adjust to the college lifestyle, a JumpStart team leader serving at a preschool twice a week alongside my peers, and a leader for URI Service Corps alternative spring break trips. This summer I will be teaching middle school students in Providence through Generation Teach and hope to continue growing my background in service!
