A politics major, Danner interned this past summer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development implementing fair wage policies. At Sewanee, she is involved in a variety of student organizations that work to cultivate unity among the diverse racial and socio-economic segments of Sewanee’s campus. To further these goals, she ran and was elected as one of the junior class senators for the Student Government Association, became a member of the Bairnwick Women’s Center Activist Coalition, and became a work-study student in the Office of Civic Engagement. In the latter, she supports various initiatives, including Sewanee Votes!, the award-winning democratic program. Beyond these activist positions, she the social chair for Alpha Delta Theta, a social sorority.

Using these platforms, she has used dialogue-across-differences methods to organize conversations concerning Sewanee’s campus climate on sexual behavior and assault. These included a town hall that took place during the national Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April 2019 brought together administrators and students. In each of these efforts, she seeks to draw on her diverse social roles to engage a diverse portion of Sewanee’s campus community in order to foster a mutual understanding across difficult social divides.
