Kathleen (Katt) Ritchie desires to be a social worker at the completion of her education and is spending a great deal of time exploring many options in that profession. She has enjoyed working and volunteering countless hours at local non-profit organizations including the Human Services Programs Family Center as well as Carroll County's Family and Children's Services. Both of these organizations provide families and children in the community with social services the focus on prevention, intervention, counseling and advocacy. Katt also serves as the president of the Service-Learning club and has coordinated many on and off-campus service opportunities for her student peers including making holiday cards for Veterans, blankets for cancer patients at our local hospital, and many trips to our local Cold Weather [homeless] Shelter. She has also coordinated a "Socktober" drive on campus that provided many pairs of socks to our Community Action Agency as well as a beauty supply drive that delivered many make-up and hygiene products to women in our county's Domestic Violence Safe House. Katt has made significant contributions to our community and is most worthy of joining this prestigious national leadership group.
