Personal Statement
Small businesses are being replaced by big corporations. I first became interested in small business development when I noticed business owners not being able to keep up with the rapidly changing world of digital media. Not all businesses can be successful by word of mouth anymore so social media plays a crucial role. After working in the corporate world I knew that I could take my skills and put them into better use for my local business district. I am extremely passionate about shopping local, sustainability, and community growth. Recently, I’ve started an internship with a non-profit organization (St. Johns Boosters) that works to support local business owners by supplying them with resources and community backing. With this new internship, I have also started to bridge together my school, Wayfinding Academy, with the local community to help make internship opportunities available to students.
