Personal Statement
During my time at MSUB, my servants' heart has flourished. On campus, I have been submerged in various organizations, all of which present new opportunities to make a difference. Through employment in the Center for Engagement, I am exposed to nearly every event on campus. I have taken part in a plethora of awareness-centered activities, including suicide prevention, veteran services, and educational development. I have volunteered many days judging, teaching, and presenting science topics to Boy Scouts, high school STEM officers, and community members. As I progress through my education, I dedicate time to tutor science students, as success should be an option for everyone. I have also served my colleagues as a senator on ASMSUB student senate, opening my eyes to the processes of the university as well as the concerns of the student body, allowing me to elicit change on campus.
Recently, my service has extended beyond campus, as I volunteer weekly planning and playing games with elementary children through Awana, a Christian youth program, and helping volunteer coach a local high school basketball team, both of which allow me to give and receive joy and impact lives. I am far more blessed when I give than receive.
