Global Health is a pursuit based on achieving greater equity in health in all corners of the world through embrace of values and principles such as accountability, respect, sustainability, humility, and transparency.  Organizations and individuals facilitating experiential learning under the auspices of Global Health need to ensure programs both teach and embody these principles.  This takes intentionality and ongoing evaluation!  To help capacitate the global health education community of practice, we presented a pre-conference session at the Annual Conference of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health entitled “Best Practices in Global Health Experiential Learning.” Panelists included representatives from Child Family Health International, globalsl, NAFSA Association of International Educators, Global Health and Health Policy at Harvard University, and the Office of Global Services at Georgetown University.

During the day we explored the following areas: (1) ethics, (2) competencies/ pedagogies, (3) assessment and evaluation, and (4) risk management.

We believe that our pursuit of ethical global engagement calls us to intentionally consider accessibility of our work and resources. Therefore, we want to share out our conference presentations (including some slide decks) and resources publicly here!
