Moses Ramos Lino
Wagner College
Moses is a junior at Wagner College majoring in Business Management with a minor in Economics and Civic Engagement. He attended Port Richmond High School and participated in the Port Richmond Partnership Leadership Academy (PRPLA), a college readiness program in partnership with Wagner College. This experience was crucial in his educational development and college pathway, as it granted him college- level course work experience and role model mentors with similar obstacles in their college journey. He now intends to give back and become a change agent of significance. At Wagner, he is heavily involved in campus leadership clubs and events. Moses serves as president of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Vice-President of Management & Marketing Club, Fundraising Chair for the Bonner Leaders Program and as a member of Wagner Cares.
Off-campus, he has held multiple internships supporting business development in Staten Island’s Port Richmond, and now works as a College Career Bridge Mentor and conversation facilitator for the College Access Research and Action (CARA) program, which aims to ensure that students of color, first-generation college-goers, and low-income high school students have the necessary knowledge and support to enroll in and persist through college.
Personal Statement
I am a Junior at Wagner College majoring in Business Management with a minor in Economics and Civic Engagement. I am a Bonner Leader and serve my community by being a college readiness mentor and supporting the Bonner Leaders program as its fundraising chair. Additionally, I work as a College Career Bridge Mentor and conversation facilitator at my former high school, for a program that aims to ensure that students of color, first-generation college-goers, and low-income high school students have the necessary knowledge and support to enroll in and persist through college. In this role, I am able to provide many of the same opportunities and resources I received throughout my post-secondary schooling for going to college and to provide alternative options for non-college bound students, such as trade schools or special programs. My plan for the near future is to become an agent of change for my community and beyond, a role model for future generations and a civic professional.
