2019 in Review

THE ENGAGED SCHOLARS INITIATIVE kicked off across the country, developing, supporting, and connecting leaders who will advance co-created knowledge, critically engaged pedagogies, institutional change, and collaborative action to address societal issues. COMMUNITY COLLEGES FOR DEMOCRACY was established as a network within Campus Compact dedicated to preparing community college students to be informed, active, and mobilized leaders in our democracy. Learn more >

TWO NEW BOOKS were published, bringing new resources to the field: The Community Engagement Professional’s Guidebook and The Craft of Community-Engaged Teaching and Learning. Stay tuned for even more new titles in 2020. Learn more > 

CAMPUS COMPACT REGIONAL CONFERENCES convened faculty, staff, students, and senior leaders from campuses across the country. Be sure to join us for our Compact20 national conference in Seattle in March 2020! Learn more >

THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIAL officially launched with two micro-credentials. Stay tuned in 2020 for even more micro-credentials and the first steps to earning a full credential. Learn more >

THE CENSUS 2020 KNOWLEDGE HUB was created as the Compact network took the lead on census work across the country. Stay tuned to hear about more census resources in 2020! Learn more >

K2H CIVIC FUTURES was added as the newest initiative in Campus Compact’s national service programming, engaging AmeriCorps members in building a pipeline for civic learning K-12 to higher education. Learn more >

THE THOMAS EHRLICH CIVICALLY ENGAGED FACULTY AWARD & THE ERNEST A. LYNTON AWARD FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP OF ENGAGEMENT were awarded to Dr. Diya Abdo and Dr. Cristina Santamaría GraffLearn more > 

COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE were formed to catalyze deeper work focused on community colleges, the Community Engagement Professional Credential and Civic Action Plan implementation.

THE CAMPUS COMPACT IMPACT AWARDS were expanded with three new awards: The Nadinne Cruz Community Engagement Professional Award and the Richard Guarasci and Eduardo J. Padrón Awards for Institutional Transformation. The application period is open now! Learn more >

2019 CONVENING OF NEWMAN CIVIC FELLOWS brought 200 community-committed students from across the country to Boston for learning, networking, and growth. We’re now seeking nominations for the 2020 cohort of fellows!
