Lauren Lisembee, Antioch University New England
Lauren Lisembee is a second year dance/movement therapy and counseling student who demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to serving others. She is the co-founder of the non-profit Written on Your Heart (WOYH) which raises awareness of human trafficking and supports the recovery of human-trafficking survivors with home-made cards. She organizes volunteers to make the cards to encourage and inspire survivors on their healing journeys. Cards are delivered to organizations and safe houses that work with survivors, including Freedom Place, Free the Captives, Traffick911, Chrysalis Mentoring, Redeemed Ministries, and international NGOs. Lauren established WOYH in the Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan areas, and she established the New England Chapter in 2013. Not only does Lauren facilitate the operations in her organization, she also educates the public about trafficking. She has worked collaboratively with the Support Group for Ethnic and Racial Diversity (SERD) at Antioch to raise funds for both organizations.
