Yusanda Blackmon, Ivy Tech Community College – Northeast

Yusanda Blackmon is a second year student at Ivy Tech Community College – Northeast. She has a long history of working with her community through her leadership positions with Latter Rain Ministries where they work to address public issues and concerns at their root to leave a stronger and healthier community for the future. During her education she has been a strong advocate for students working with administration both regionally and statewide to improve the student experience and help students excel at their educational goals. She is a Student Leadership Academy graduate and was elected Student Government President. Yusanda was also an active member of Campus Activities Board and Hospitality Club where she has organized multiple service projects and opportunities to connect students and the community looking to develop mutually beneficial partnerships for the continued growth of all constituents. Yusanda realizes that well-educated citizens are the future to stronger communities and wants to have a future career in development so she can better connect higher education with its community to create a strong foundation of future civic leaders.
