Tiana Cox, Benedict College

Tiana Cox is a junior Accounting major at Benedict College in Columbia, SC. She exemplifies her major through her active engagement in projects and activities that support people. Financial literacy and economic advancement for low-income populations have been the consistent theme in her service-learning efforts. She has participated in projects with agencies such as Hannah House, a local transitional home for women and children, Wateree Community Action Inc., a non-profit organization that provides emergency funding to low income families and elderly individuals, and serving as a tax service preparer assistant for a local tax service agency. As a Presidential Scholar and a member of the College’s Service-Learning & Leadership Development Leadership Institute, she has been instrumental in serving as a role model for her peers. She currently holds several leadership positions on campus to include, President of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Second Vice President of the Benedict College Student Government Association, and Treasurer of the National Association of Black Accountants.
