Sophie Brickman, Brandeis University

Sophie Brickman, a second year student at Brandeis University, is active in a variety of service initiatives, with emphasis on mentoring and youth development. For the past two years she has worked closely with Jewish Big Brother Big Sister and the Waltham Public School District to coordinate and expand programs that support the healthy development of youth. She has addressed issues of risk management, professionalism and program sustainability while streamlining recruitment and training procedures. Sophie always has a smile on her face, she balances her multiple commitments with grace and has an impressive work ethic. Her enthusiasm and passion for social justice is evident in her strong sense of character, career path, and her involvement in the community.
