Sarah Fischer, Ball State University

Sarah Fischer, a sophomore in the Honors College at Ball State University, is an interdisciplinary collaborator who works to combine her interests in science and art. Double majoring in biology and printmaking, Sarah intends to use art as a medium for engaging the public with ecological issues such as climate change, species conservation, and natural resource sustainability. Sarah currently serves as an art director of a local community-focused art collective, the Glue & Scissors Society, through which she seeks to make art more accessible to the community of Muncie, Indiana. In 2013 she was selected to participate in the US-UK Fulbright Summer Institute at Nottingham Trent University in England, where she studied fine art, writing, and local heritage. In the classroom and beyond, Sarah actively challenges her peers to consider how seemingly different disciplines and diverse perspectives can work together to help create a more collaborative, sustainable future.
