Pamela Campos-Palma, Portland State University
Pamela Campos-Palma, an undergraduate at Portland State University (PSU), is a prominent student and community leader who has recently been confirmed by the Oregon legislature as a member of PSU’s new Board of Trustees. As a student leader, Pamela has served as the director of Las Mujeres, a campus affinity group that addresses the social issues which impacts the academic success of our Latina students and on the Center for Women Politics and Policy’s governance and outreach committee at PSU. As a founding member of the Board, Pamela will serve for two years. Her Board committee duties include a position on the Academic and Student Affairs Committee. Pamela is an extraordinarily effective leader who has fostered positive collaborations and unity between diverse student, faculty and community partners. In addition to the service mentioned previously, Pamela is an alumna of the highly selective National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI) in Washington, D.C., as well as NEW Leadership Oregon. She has also worked at the state and federal levels as a lobbyist and translator on behalf of marginalized community members and is currently serving as an intern for U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley.
