Katie Morici, University of Wisconsin Stevens Point
Katie Morici, a third year student at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, is an active student leader who is passionate about education and helping others. During her time as a student, Katie has worked with Spread the Word to End the Word a program that works to eliminate the use of derogatory terms associated with special needs students both on campus and at the local high school. Katie volunteers weekly with special education high schools students taking them to campus events and helping them succeed academically. Katie is also a valuable contributor to the multiple education student organizations that she is involved with, including holding multiple leadership roles within the organizations. She is also the campus Blood Drive Coordinator and her passion for helping students to save lives in unmatched. Because of her passion, drive and outgoing personality, Katie has amazing potential to be the kind of teacher that changes children’s lives on a daily basis by being an ally and an advocate. Katie leads by example and her potential for motivating her peers, students, and the community to be a more inclusive environment for all is endless.
