Jennifer Stroot, McKendree University

Jennifer Stroot is a senior elementary education major at McKendree University. As a McKendree Community Service Scholar, Jenny has been a campus leader in public service, setting a great example for her classmates in serving individuals with special needs and raising awareness on issues affecting low-income populations. Jenny coordinates McKendree’s involvement in Bridge the Divide, a program where children with special needs are given the opportunity to ride and care for horses. On campus, Jenny directs events during Hunger and Homeless Week, has led numerous food drives, and is deeply involved in a number of campus organizations, including McKendree Interfaith and the Disability Awareness Club. Jenny’s dedication and enthusiasm are infectious, and she is and will be a force for positive change in her community.
