Deanna Boucher, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts
Deanna Boucher ’15 is an outstanding student-leader who demonstrates a passion and commitment toward advocacy work concerning local and national issues. In her freshman year at MCLA, Deanna was awarded the Maxis Gillet Community Service Scholarship for her achievements. Her leadership skills are evident through her work with the organization SADD National (Students Against Destructive Decisions). Deanna served as the SADD National Student of the Year; chaired the National Student Leadership Council; coordinated the national conference; served as the media liaison within SADD National. Deanna served on the SADD National Board of Directors and traveled to Capitol Hill to lobby for policy and provisions to the hallmark transportation bill. As a Residence Advisor, member of the Residence Area Advisory Board, member of the Recycling Committee, and National Residence Hall Honorary Secretary, Deanna inspires changes on the MCLA campus. As an intern with the city of North Adams Community Development Office, Deanna is working on an effort for the city to receive a Cultural District Designation – a distinction which will have a long-standing impact on the local creative economy. With enthusiasm and energy, Deanna demonstrates a deep commitment to service work and advocacy.
