Christina Gutierrez, University of Notre Dame

Christina Gutierrez is a third-year student at the University of Notre Dame studying Political Science and Romance Languages. She serves on Notre Dame’s Sustainability Leadership Coalition and as President of the ND Chapter of the World Hunger Coalition. In the local community, she is an active member of the regional Food Security Coalition and the Monroe Park Grocery Cooperative. In Summer 2013, she engaged in a research internship at Yale University’s Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity. She has used her extensive academic research on food policy to organize several initiatives to address food justice issues both locally and globally. With her sparkling personality, boundless enthusiasm, and excellent leadership and organizational skills, she is working with others to effect meaningful and significant systemic change in the structural aspects of food insecurity.
