Ana Lara, Warren Wilson College
Ana Lara is a junior double majoring in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology at Warren Wilson College. She is a student leader who is active in issues of education and social justice and seeks to effectively bring people together to create a more just world. Ana has worked closely with local organizations to create awareness and understanding about education reform and has aligned her academic research with the goals of a national program that focuses on building the leadership and capacity of women of color. She is recognized as a campus leader through her work as co-founder of a campus mentor program for students of color and co-coordinator of a multi-cultural campus group that promotes diversity of the local Latino community. Her efforts as a Warren Wilson College student are evidence that she has both the potential and ability to effectively address social justice issues.
