Alexis Eaddy, Winthrop University
Alexis Eaddy represents Winthrop University as Newman Civic Fellow. Identified early on at Winthrop as a leader, Alexis was selected to participate in a variety of leadership and civic engagement programs: Emerging Leaders, Close Scholars, and Model United Nations. Alexis is a member of Delta Sigma Theta; Phi Alpha Delta, and Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society. A junior at Winthrop, Alexis is pursuing a degree in Social Work, along with a Peace, Conflict & Resolution Studies minor. Following graduation, she will pursue a law degree and career in International Relations. Alexis plans to use her degrees to “give voice to vulnerable populations,” and dreams of one day working for the United Nations. As a passionate advocate for families experiencing poverty, she has contributed over 500 hours of community service to help families in crisis. Alexis has volunteered for Family Promise, an interfaith organization that provides shelter and meals for homeless families, for three years. Alexis has been integral in facilitating the “Bed Race”- Family Promise’s largest annual fundraiser. She is committed to the mission of Family Promise, and is proud to be a part of an organization that connects families with the resources they need.
