Tesia Posekany, Buena Vista University

Tesia Posekany, a third year student at Buena Vista University, is a student leader who is very active in mobilizing and engaging her peers in service. Ms. Posekany has been instrumental in volunteering and capacity building through her role in BV Buddies, a student organization dedicated to mentoring middle school youth. Tesia has served in a coordinator role for three years. She originally started volunteering with the organization as a mentor and eventually her passion for mentoring grew and she applied to take on a leadership role. As her interest in volunteerism grew, so did her commitment to engaging her peers in service. Tesia has participated in local, state, and national service projects. By connecting with her peers, she has mobilized over 100 students to volunteer with BV Buddies. She is a vital resource to the campus community and beyond. Her work will have a lasting impact for years to come.
