Taylor Wright, Colby-Sawyer College
Taylor Wright is a person of great compassion, drive and enthusiasm. As a student worker during the 2011-2012 school year she assisted the Associate Dean of Students with getting community service opportunities out to the college community. Her ideas and enthusiasm really were the driving force behind the project and it wouldn’t have gotten off the ground successfully without her hard work and dedication. In Fall of 2012 Taylor led the effort to re-create the Community Service Club on campus. By sharing her enthusiasm and passion for community service with other students at our Fall Activities Fair she was able to get over 50 people to sign up for the club. She was instrumental in leading many projects throughout the fall including, The I Will 9/11 campaign, Operation Write Home, Fall Clean-Up, YMCA Afterschool program, the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, and blanket creation and donations for the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center. With the help of a few dedicated students Taylor initiated the campaign to have Colby-Sawyer’s first ever Relay For Life event here on campus. Her countless hours of dedication to this cause has already proved to be hugely successful with 30 teams, 160 participants and almost $5,000 raised toward the fight against cancer, Taylor’s drive and dedication have helped to transform Colby-Sawyer’s focus on helping others as well as making a huge impact in those we serve in the community.
