Ronald Taylor, Syracuse University
Ronald Taylor, a sophomore at Syracuse University, worked hard to improve conditions both within Syracuse University and in the local community. He has targeted his efforts in the off-campus community working with youth in disadvantaged areas. As a freshman, Ronald established the Cultural Project Rejuvenation Mentorship program at Wilson Park Community Center. Since then he has had three strong semesters mentoring youth on their potential and leadership qualities. On campus, Ronald has taken a leadership position in the Multicultural Empowerment Network, the Black Celestial Choral Ensemble, and as an orientation leader. This semester, he organized and promoted a highly publicized forum entitled “Healing the Scars.” It is designed to promote diversity on the Syracuse University campus. This event represents not only Ronald’s passion to build a sense of community on campus but also showcases his unlimited energy and organizing capabilities.
