Nhu Ngoc Pham, Tulane University

Nhu Ngoc Pham, a junior at Tulane University, is deeply invested in working with local and global leaders to make quality healthcare more accessible for low-income communities and people of color. As a health care intern with the Micah Project, Ngoc is participating in a community-based research study focused on improving healthcare system operations and reducing the cost of emergency room visits. In addition to this project, Ngoc regularly provides language translation services for various non-profits and conducts weekly visits with residents at the St. Charles Health Care Center. Her passion for this work has positioned her as a leader both on and off campus. In an effort to inspire her peers to view systemic social problems as conquerable, Ngoc serves as Tulane’s campus director for Net Impact’s “Small Steps, Big Win Challenge.” She is also working to develop and institutionalize an undergraduate mentoring program that promotes academic success and engaged learning initiatives within the student body. Through these experiences, there is no doubt that Ngoc is prepared for a very bright future in her major fields of public health and international development.
