Delbert Richardson, Antioch University Seattle
Delbert Richardson, a third year student at Antioch University Seattle, is deeply committed to telling the African American story. He developed the “American History Museum: The Unspoken Truths,” a traveling museum of storyboards and artifacts, to educate people about slavery and the Jim Crow era, and to strengthen self-esteem among today’s African American young people with stories of African American heroes. His passion for this work has positioned him as a leader on campus and off campus throughout the Seattle area. It is clear that Delbert takes very seriously his commitments to the community and to telling the African American story, and he does this work with both intensity and graciousness.
