Caitlin McGuire, Le Moyne College
Caitlin McGuire, a senior at Le Moyne College, is deeply committed to the use of communications and public relations as tools for social justice. Majoring in Communications and Spanish, Caitlin uses her skills in social media, blogging, web-design and public relations to motivate and inspire her peers to engage in social justice advocacy and service both locally and abroad as co-president of Le Moyne’s Projects in the Community and project leader for two service immersion trips to Ecuador. Caitlin’s emphasis is not only on service, but on inspiring and enabling others to make a difference. Committed to the notion that everyone should have equal access to the opportunity to serve, Caitlin was instrumental in launching a fundraising auction to help minimize the financial burden on participating students thus enabling them to engage in international service. Thanks to Caitlin’s comprehensive P/R campaign, the event was a tremendous success and is now slated to become an annual event that will support future service trips and raise awareness about the Working Boys Center. Caitlin is an exceptionally talented manager and gifted mentor with a commitment to developing the talents of her classmates as future leaders of Le Moyne’s social justice initiatives.
