Bailey Bollinger, University of Missouri – St. Louis

Since Bailey Bollinger’s arrival at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, she has immersed herself in leadership opportunities. In her freshman year, Bailey took part in the Emerging Leaders program, which provides new students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills and get mentored by an upper-class student leader. Through this program, she learned about the new community service board created in the Office of Student Life, UMSL Students of Service, for which she became chair. Bailey has been instrumental in developing this board and creating a culture of service on campus. Her dedication to engage her peers in service is incredible, as illustrated by her involvement in the Martin Luther King Day of Service, which consistently has 200+ volunteers. As the chair, Bailey has been equally committed to this event as the staff, working tirelessly; putting 20 hours of prep time in the weekend prior to make sure the event was a success. Additionally, she mentors new service board members and other students through the Emerging Leaders program. Off campus, Bailey volunteers as a Big Sister for the local chapter of Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Her commitment to service on and off campus makes her an excellent candidate for this award.
