Ashley Paul, New England College
Ashley Paul has been devoted to civic engagement and community service in many ways, both on the New England College campus and off. Double majoring in Computer Information System and Psychology, and minoring in Business, Ashley has a great many skills that as a campus leader she has demonstrated in internships which focus on helping others. At Rush Square, an assisted-living residence in Henniker, New Hampshire she organized events for the elderly and assisted them with technology, and more recently she has been interning at the Midway Shelter in Bradford, New Hampshire which helps at-risk boys. Her time there has been spent making meals, working in the kitchen, aiding the residents with social skills, and assisting residents with their school work, all the while getting to know the residents as people and aiding them in whatever ways she can. Ashley has used her good sense of humor to build an authentic and caring trust with the boys at the Midway Shelter and her emphasis on providing and compassion in her work makes her a very special and gifted person in her own right. Her goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of those in the shelter and to help them understand that their lives are just starting. She hopes to change their worlds for the better.
