Stephanie Frenel, Georgetown University
Stephanie Frenel, a senior at Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, is an exceptional student leader engaged in multiple social justice programs both at Georgetown University and in the greater Washington, DC community. During her time at Georgetown, she has excelled in leadership roles in Georgetown’s tutoring programs, as a classroom teacher in DC Public Schools, and as a founder of innovative campus community programs. As a researcher on the student association’s committee on diversity, she collected data that helped to inform the University’s recruitment of students of color and new minority education programs. Stephanie has this year initiated a new dialogue group, Georgetown Leaders for Unity and Equity, designed to bridge the social barriers placed around race.
