Nicholas Romo, Pitzer College
Nicholas Romo is a sophomore studying Political Studies and Sociology at Pitzer College. As a Research Assistant in Sociology, he discusses with students community engagement programs with local Native American tribes. In his role as Native American Program Student Coordinator, he organizes events concerning indigenous issues and native youth. Last summer, he forged relationships in British Columbia as part of a research project focused on the decolonization of American Universities. Nicholas has also been an active member of the Latino Student Union and is a member of the Diversity Committee on campus. Through the AmeriCorps Jumpstart program, he has implemented Jumpstart curriculum in a pre-school for low-income youth and organized events with the surrounding community to support families and facilitate cross-cultural learning.
