Corwin McCammon, Indian River State College
Corwin McCammon is actively engaged in his community. He organized the World AIDS Day Remembrance Walk, drawing over 300 participants. In response to the spike in HIV/AIDS cases, he created “Speak Love,” teaching young people self-respect and how to avoid destructive behavior. His leadership position in Campus Coalition Government provides a model for engagement and activism. He has participated in or organized food drives, blood drives, a Day of Service at IRSC, a breast cancer event, and a community health fair. In his free time, he mentors children through the Take Stock in Children program and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
