Alex Castaneda, Concordia University Portland

Alex Castaneda, a junior at Concordia University Portland, has engaged with health issues facing the homeless population of Portland, Oregon. Through her service leadership courses, Alex focused on addressing trends that cause teenage homelessness. Alex regularly attends the Bridgetown Inc. Homeless Outreach board meetings and volunteers with the Oregon Food Bank Advocacy Department to develop and distribute healthy meal options for teenage youth. Alex leads her peers as a Concordia Student Service Coordinator.
