Raegan Mach

Raegan Mach has distinguished herself as a leader since her first semester at Northern Oklahoma College. As an International Studies major, she has worked as many as four jobs at one time to fund study abroad travels where she can learn more about the global environment and her role in it, but she also lives the philosophy to "think globally and act locally" through numerous community service projects where she gives of her time to help those disadvantaged by poverty and limited educational opportunities. She has contributed time and effort to sustaining Arts Education through a scholarship fundraiser for rural communities with limited budgets, and she has delivered meals to those unable to prepare for themselves, all while serving as an active ambassador for the college campus.
Personal Statement
I feel that participating in and giving back to your community is important for many reasons: 1) The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I treat others through service how I'd like to be treated. 2) You can change the world one small act at a time. It is the sum of all the small good acts that make a large positive difference. 3) It is personally rewarding. I have never walked away from an act of service unhappy. As a matter of fact, I often leave with a smile and sense of accomplishment knowing I have made a small difference in the world I live in. 4) It is a part of my faith. I am a Christian, and God has commanded me to be Christ-like. This means serving others and striving to cause positive change. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..." (Mark 10:45). 5) A true leader is a servant who leads by example. The best way to lead a group of people is by being the example they need to succeed.
