Personal Statement
As a second-year student pharmacist at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, I aspire to promote self-empowerment, optimism, and healthy lifestyles in my peers and the people of Western Oklahoma. As a second term president of the Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Leadership Co-Ed Fraternity, I strive to foster a strong sense of brotherhood and positivity among members. I provide leadership and personal development opportunities via organizing and encouraging participation in interactive workshops, service events (such as the Glow 5K), and regional meetings. As APhA-ASP chair for both Operation Heart and Operation Over-the-Counter Medication Safety, I provided numerous clinical skills opportunities for my pharmacy peers - in turn, they educate the public about these important health topics. As a member of the Collegiate Activities Board, I am active in celebratory diversity events. In the summer, I contribute to the empowerment of 8th grade girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) as a camp counselor for Tech Trek at SWOSU. Overall, I strive to lead by example, valuing the importance of self-worth and confidence, and a belief that people should be encouraged to pursue their goals.
