Personal Statement
Growing up, I had the belief that "to whom much is given, much is required." However, helping others was not something that felt like a requirement to me but a desire. In looking back on my service in the community, I am surprised at all that I have been able to accomplish. I have been inspired by my friends and family, the faculty at Charleston Southern University, and many others I have had the opportunity of working with, to give back to those in need. Service is my passion, in which I have based my future career of nursing on. I hope to be able to give the physical, emotional, and spiritual care that people deserve, not with the intention of receiving gratitude or recognition, but because I have made it my responsibility as my debt owed to this earth.
