This session will focus on designing and implementing courses with high levels of student interaction, engagement, and community-based learning. We will introduce strategies and approaches for enhancing students' skills in leadership, teamwork, and problem solving through supportive learning communities, student-led activities, and student-directed learning. We will discuss strategies for balancing and effectively utilizing both synchronous and asynchronous class time in order to make courses meaningful, relevant, and content-rich. Participants will leave the session with concrete plans and goals to support students' online learning experiences with a "flipped" mindset and approach. Presented as part of the Fusion Webinar Series. The Fusion Project provides critical training and support for faculty as they continue to navigate online teaching as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and offers instruction for how to integrate community engagement methodologies into existing curricula to improve the quality of course delivery and foster student engagement. Rural College Access and Success Summit

2021 Rural College Access and Success Summit Partners for Education at Berea College and Campus Compact for New Hampshire invite you to the 2021 Rural College Access and Success Summit. One of the few national convenings to focus on rural America, the Summit brings together teachers, principals, superintendents, higher education leaders, legislators, and non-profit leaders to share ideas and strategies for ensuring that rural youth have the opportunity to successfully transition from high school to college and career. Registration Information In effort to be as inclusive as possible and leverage the strengths of online events, we are not charging a per person registration fee. Instead, organizations who wish to support the goals of the Summit will be asked to pay a $250 dollar registration fee. CAP Writing Retreat

These retreats are designed for individuals or teams working on the Civic Action Plan for their institution. Breakout rooms will be provided for teams to work together and other rooms will be designated for individuals who would like to work either in a quiet environment or one that allows for a little more talking. Campus Compact staff will be present in the main room to answer questions, offer individual guidance, and/or pop into your breakout room to speak with your group.
