With a broad vision of higher education as social change agents and a belief that addressing issues like poverty is essential to the vision of the public purpose of higher education, the Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA Program seeks to activate higher education institutions and their partners to work together to make an impact on poverty on their campuses and in their communities. Our AmeriCorps VISTA program places AmeriCorps members for one-year terms of service on campuses and/or with their community partners to build capacity for high impact programs, organizational approaches, and collective impact efforts that improve outcomes for low-income college students, low-income K-12 students, and low-income community members across the United States.
