BSU DVD aimed at Latino families

Muncie — A group of Ball State University students has created an educational DVD to help Latino high school students and their parents better navigate the college application process.
The 15-minute video, “¡Sí, puedes! Making college possible,” covers four main issues Latinos encounter when considering a college education: the benefits of going to college, coping with common fears, how to qualify and apply for college and where to find money to pay for it.
The class is now distributing copies of the DVD free of charge to Indiana high schools and Hispanic organizations. Class instructor Chin-Sook Pak said students received a grant from Indiana Campus Compact to make 200 copies of the video.
