Kirsy Rosario

Kirsy graduated with an undergraduate degree in accounting in 2020 and is currently pursuing her Masters of Business Administration at Alvernia University. She is committed to Alvernia’s mission of serving the underserved in an impactful and meaningful way. She has demonstrated this through varying service experiences including two abroad mission-based service trips. She is currently the Graduate Assistant in the Holleran Center for Community and Global Engagement where she continues to address community needs through the coordination of service events. In this role, she has spearheaded the launching of a new volunteer management system that is essential for connecting student volunteers to community projects. Kirsy’s willingness and desire to constantly improve service efforts and her dedication to serving local and global communities are not to go unnoticed.
Personal Statement
My time at Alvernia has showed me the importance of serving and providing support to others. After working with the Reading Collegiate Scholars Program (a college access program for students grades 9-12), I saw the impact one can have on others and it inspired me to continue to make an impact. In addition to my Alternative Break Experience to the Dominican Republic, I also traveled to Mexico to be immersed in their culture and further serve the needs of the community. I provided support to the community through various church renovations, community clean-ups, vacation bible school planning and management of various community outreach events. Being able to serve locally and globally has allowed me to have a different perspective on life. As a student in the Masters of Business Administration program at Alvernia, I continue serving others as the Graduate Assistant for The Holleran Center for Community and Global Engagement. In this position, I have assisted in the launching of a new volunteer management system that connects local organizations to student volunteers at the University. Through my work, community partners are not only able to recruit new volunteers but also establish long-term volunteers and create lasting partnerships.
