Free Webinar this Wed, 4/22: Identity, Belonging, and Education Abroad
Join us for a special joint webinar being co-hosted with Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad and The Forum on Education Abroad as a part of its 16th Annual Conference, being held virtually.
“CONVERSATION WITH THE GLOBALSL NETWORK: IDENTITY, BELONGING, AND EDUCATION ABROAD” WILL TAKE PLACE ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22, FROM 1-2:15PM CDT (CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME):
In January, co-presenters contributed, “Coloniality-Decoloniality and Critical Global Citizenship: Identity, Belonging, and Education Abroad,” to Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad special issue on Diversity and Inclusion in Education Abroad. Only four months later, the world looks radically different, as barriers to access deepen, borders strengthen, and tired stereotypes resurface. Co-presenters will share what their inquiry across multiple institutions revealed about the strengths of under-represented students in education abroad programs, while also exploring what the complexities of student-community interaction, and the vital roles of cultural humility and critical global citizenship have to offer to the current moment.
