Campus Compact Welcomes Molly Leiper as Communications Manager

October 17, 2017

Campus Compact is excited to welcome Molly Leiper, our new Communications Manager, to our national office. Leiper is joining us from Boston University where she previously worked as the Senior Alumni Relations Associate. Leiper earned both her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Advertising from BU.

As Communications Manager, Leiper will share the story of Campus Compact’s mission, vision, activities, and impact by means of our website, email communications, and social media. Leiper says she strives to accomplish this through thoughtful and effective messaging.

“I really want to work on streamlining communications and then hopefully get a chance to look at some of the data behind the communications and figure out how to be more impactful,” Leiper says.

While her studies in undergraduate school focused on psychology, Leiper says that Sociology courses inspired her to make a difference in the world. Following her passion, Leiper applied to become an AmeriCorps VISTA and accepted this role at Jumpstart, a national early education organization that provides language, literacy, and social-emotional programming for preschool children from under-resourced communities.

During her year as a VISTA at Jumpstart’s headquarters in Boston, Leiper helped manage the organization’s national operations and systems. Leiper loved working for the organization so much that she then worked as a Regional Operations Coordinator at one of the New York offices. Leiper wore many hats in this position, as she helped coordinate office management, budgeting, communications, and large events like Jumpstart’s annual gala.

“I really enjoyed working in that sort of environment, and I’m excited to be back in a place where I can get my hands dirty,” Leiper says.

“When I was in college, I didn’t really realize that you are an adult and can actually be involved and make a difference. That’s really when you can start making changes and determining not just your own future, but also the future of your community,” Leiper explains. “That’s why this is important to me; Campus Compact is helping students realize that and take advantage of that opportunity.”

Danielle Leek, Campus Compact’s Director of Professional Learning says that Leiper will make important contributions to the Campus Compact national staff, “Molly has a wide range of experiences; She is a talented communications professional with a strong technology background.”

We look forward to seeing what Leiper helps us accomplish as an organization.
