The CUMU Annual Conference is the largest nationwide meeting of leaders from urban and metropolitan universities and colleges. We are a diverse community filled with people who are doing great things and who want to help others achieve great things.
An Exchange of Ideas
Never in our history, has the need to be deeply engaged and committed to developing and sustaining impactful partnerships been more important. This year’s theme, Charting the Future of Metropolitan Universities, is designed to generate dialogue that examines the biggest challenges and opportunities facing our institutions and cities. A robust exchange of ideas will help us examine how we can transform our institutions to meet the needs of our community and students.
What Keeps You Up at Night?
The format of the CUMU Annual Conference has been refined to encourage a greater exchange of ideas. Presentations will be categorized by approach rather than participant tracks. Thinking Big Dialogues, How-To, and Proven Program sessions will help attendees customize their conference experience and to learn more about topics and methods that interest them.
Who Participates?
We are a community of college presidents and chancellors, senior academic and business leaders, faculty, center directors, community partners, K-12 leaders, economic and workforce development professionals, and policy makers.
Although we are a diverse group, we have one thing in common. We are doing great things and we want to help others achieve great things. Because of this, attendees are able to benefit from countless opportunities for networking and learning in a supportive environment.
