Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, University of Missouri – St. Louis
Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, better known as Elle around campus, has been a great leader at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL). Elle currently serves as the president of Colleges Against Cancer, a collegiate organization affiliated with American Cancer Society (ACS). In her second year as president, Elle continues to lead a group of passionate students to educate and promote awareness about various cancers, and raise money for ACS. From Kisses for Cancer to Relay For Life fundraising efforts, Elle leads with quiet determination to advance her organizations’ cause and engage the campus and greater Saint Louis community. Additionally, Elle has committed time to serving as a mentor on campus in the Emerging Leaders program, helping underclassmen find their way to leadership and opportunities. She has also dedicated much of her time to establishing the National Society of Leadership & Success and serves as a Student Ambassador for the university.

I think that this university has given me so much and I can never thank them enough for all that they have done. I knew once I started getting involved on campus I wanted to give back not just to UMSL, but also to the surrounding community. By helping out with the University Ambassadors as a lead, I am able to help other students network and assist at some of the university’s major events. By volunteering with Colleges Against Cancer as president of this organization, I can help to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer research. It was a great way to get other students involved and to have them help out their fellow faculty/staff members, students, and even people in the surrounding communities who might have been/are currently battling cancer. Additionally, by helping out with the National Society of Leadership and Success as their president, I am able to help individuals realize their potential to become the future leaders of tomorrow. I have to say that I really love being able to help out where ever I can and, even if it is a small thing that I do, I love being able to give back!
